Is Breast Augmentation Safe?

FDA-approved breast implants undergo extensive testing to demonstrate reasonable assurance of safety and effectiveness. The vast majority of people with breast implants experience no serious complications.

Post-operative recovery

There are risks associated with breast implants. Feeling sore is a normal reaction after surgery, not only for breast augmentation but also for any surgery. After breast augmentation, you may experience pain in some areas, these are normal symptoms and you do not need to worry too much. The wound will feel a little sore and then recover quickly. After 7 to 10 days, the stitches will be removed and you will enter the basic recovery phase. Depending on each person's body, the recovery time can last from one to three months, during which time your breasts will recover and become full of vitality.

The location of the breast implant can also affect the feeling of pain. Placing the breast implant under the gland will be less painful and gentler, but the disadvantage is that the implant may be exposed later. For placing the breast under the muscle, if placed through the areola or submammary incision, the pain will be more due to cutting through the chest muscle, causing bleeding and swelling more than placing the breast under the gland. However, if the breast is placed under the muscle through the endoscopic armpit, it will be less painful because there is no need to cut through the chest muscle.

Breast augmentation surgery is usually performed under anesthesia, which helps reduce the feeling of pain during the breast augmentation process.

Is breast augmentation safe?

Currently, with the advancement of modern technology and techniques, the surgical process has been shortened and the damage to customers has been minimized. However, like any cosmetic method, breast augmentation still has some potential risks. Therefore, is breast augmentation safe? is the top concern of women when deciding to undergo surgery to improve their breasts.

Most cases of breast augmentation failure often come from unreliable, poor quality cosmetic facilities and inexperienced doctors. Common risks include:

  1. Unsuccessful surgery: If breast augmentation is performed at a cosmetic facility that does not ensure quality, it can lead to unsightly results, asymmetry, distortion or visible scars, affecting the aesthetics of the bust.

  2. Capsular contracture: This is a possible complication, deforming the bust, causing tension and pain in the chest area.

  3. Infection: If the surgical procedure is not hygienic and sterile, post-operative infection can occur. Incisional infection can cause pain, swelling, and even serious damage.

Should I have breast augmentation surgery?

Performing breast augmentation surgery to beautify the bust is a completely reasonable and popular decision. In modern times, women are increasingly identifying their important roles and positions in society. Therefore, when they have a perfect body shape, they feel more confident and successful in their work and daily communication.

For many women, the bust is often small in size, or after giving birth, the breasts tend to sag. As time passes and age advances, the bust also loses its original firmness. Therefore, the decision to beautify by breast augmentation surgery helps restore women's confidence and youthfulness.

Breast augmentation surgery is a complicated process and requires to be performed at reputable cosmetic facilities, under the supervision of highly skilled and experienced cosmetic surgeons. It is important not to choose breast augmentation surgery at spas or unlicensed facilities.
