Choosing breast implants is a highly personal journey—and at R&R Beauty Aesthetic, we’re here to guide you through every step. From size and shape to material and placement, this decision goes far beyond aesthetics. It's about feeling confident, comfortable, and aligned with your body and lifestyle.
Here’s everything you need to know when selecting the perfect implants for you.
1. Breast Implant Size
Implants are measured in cubic centimeters (cc), not cup size. What looks like a full C cup on one person may look like a D on another—it depends on your height, chest width, and natural breast tissue.
Consider:
Your body frame and shoulder width
How much natural breast tissue you have
Your desired outcome: natural vs. enhanced look
Your lifestyle (e.g., do you exercise regularly or play sports?)
At R&R Beauty Aesthetic, we help you “try on” implant sizes during your consultation at the hospital to visualize the results before surgery.
Desired Result | Breast Implant Volume |
---|---|
A Cup >> B Cup | 250 - 300 cc |
A Cup >> C Cup | 300 - 350 cc |
A Cup >> D Cup | 350 - 450 cc |
B Cup >> C Cup | 250 - 300 cc |
B Cup >> D Cup | 350 - 450 cc |
C Cup >> D Cup | 300 - 350 cc |
2. Implant Shape: Round vs. Teardrop
Round implants are symmetrical and provide fullness in the upper breast. Great for a lifted, more augmented appearance.
Teardrop (anatomical) implants mimic the natural slope of the breast, offering subtle enhancement with more volume at the bottom.
The choice depends on whether you want a dramatic cleavage or a more natural contour.
3. Implant Material: Silicone vs. Saline
Silicone implants are filled with cohesive gel and feel more like natural breast tissue. They’re the most popular option worldwide.
Saline implants are filled with sterile salt water. If they rupture, the body absorbs the fluid harmlessly—but they may feel firmer and ripple more easily.
We typically recommend silicone gel implants for most of our patients due to their superior feel and longevity.
4. Implant Texture: Smooth vs. Textured
Smooth implants feel softer, move more naturally, and are generally safer with a lower risk of complications like BIA-ALCL. They are ideal for patients with firm, non-saggy breasts and are the most commonly used option today.
Textured implants help the implant stay in place and are less likely to rotate—especially important for teardrop-shaped implants. They can also reduce the risk of capsular contracture and offer a slight lifting effect, making them suitable for patients with mild sagging who want enhancement without a full lift.
5. Implant Profile: Low to Extra-High
Profile determines how far the implant projects from your chest.
Low profile: broader base, subtle projection, can be used for males
Moderate profile: balanced look
High/Extra-high profile: narrow base, dramatic projection
The right profile depends on your chest width and aesthetic goals, but

6. Implant Placement: Above or Below the Muscle
Submuscular (below the muscle) placement offers a more natural slope, especially in thinner patients, and reduces the risk of rippling, capsular contracture, and interference with mammograms. It also provides better long-term support, especially important after pregnancy or weight changes, which can cause sagging.
Subglandular (above the muscle) placement has a shorter downtime and may be suitable for patients with more natural breast tissue and minimal sagging, but it has higher risks of visible implant edges over time.
At R&R Beauty Aesthetic, we almost always recommend submuscular placement for better aesthetics, longer-lasting results, and lower complication risks—especially for women planning future pregnancies or concerned about breast sagging.

7. Incision Location
Inframammary incision is a popular choice, especially for first-time or revision surgeries. It offers the best surgical visibility and lower complication risk. However, the scar—while hidden in the fold—can be more visible when lying down or with smaller breasts.
Periareolar incision (around the nipple) can be ideal for patients combining breast augmentation with a breast lift, especially when correcting mild sagging. While it offers a well-hidden scar, it’s closer to the milk ducts and may carry a slightly higher risk of nipple sensitivity changes or breastfeeding challenges, so it's best for those not prioritizing future nursing.
Transaxillary incision places the scar in the armpit, keeping the breast completely scar-free. It’s a good option for patients who strongly value aesthetics, but it offers less surgical control, requires a longer recovery, and is not suitable for revisions or combined with a breast lift.

8. Implant Quality & Regulatory Compliance
We prioritize your health and satisfaction by using only FDA-approved implants from reputable brands like Motiva and Mentor. These implants meet rigorous international standards and are trusted by surgeons worldwide.
At R&R Beauty Aesthetic, we offer a variety of breast implants to meet the unique needs of our clients. Here’s an overview of the 5 types of breast implants available:
Motiva Round without Nano Chip – Our entry-level implant, offering a slightly firmer feel and a round shape that provides the highest projection, filling the upper pole completely for a perkier and more youthful appearance. Motiva implants are textured, which can help with tissue adherence and may reduce the risk of implant shifting.

Motiva Round with Nano Chip – A slightly softer version of the Motiva Round without Nano Chip, with the added benefit of a Nano Chip for enhanced traceability and long-term monitoring.
Mentor MemoryGel – A round implant that provides a fuller, more consistent shape with a soft texture. Mentor implants are known for their natural feel, and their smooth texture enhances comfort, offering a smoother look.
Motiva Ergonomix – One of our best-sellers, the Motiva Ergonomix is a teardrop-shaped implant designed to adapt to your body’s movements. It features a textured surface and provides a natural, dynamic contour, perfect for those seeking a subtle enhancement with a more natural feel.

Mentor MemoryGel Xtra – The softest and most natural-looking implant, with a teardrop shape. Mentor MemoryGel Xtra mimics natural breast tissue, offering a soft texture that enhances comfort and provides a soft, subtle contour.
Each of these implants is carefully selected based on your aesthetic goals and body type. At R&R Beauty Aesthetic, our skilled surgeons will guide you in choosing the best implant type for a customized, beautiful result.
